2ND OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ILOILO PARAW BEACH RESORT
Issued on May 9, 2024, during the mini-conference held at the Balangay Hall of Iloilo Paraw Beach Resort
Ladies and Gentlemen, We address you today on behalf of Iloilo Paraw Beach Resort, in light of recent events concerning the sales of BINI tickets that has affected our valued patrons and tarnished the reputation of our establishment. Allow us to provide insight into the matter based on the following blotter report:
On March 26, 2024, individuals identifying as Carly O. Rosario, also known by the aliases "Bjonzy Osorio" and "Lea Mae Lucero," purported to be producers organizing the event "Bini: Live in Iloilo." Mr. Rosario contacted our resort via Viber, expressing interest in renting our venue for this concert and proceeded to make payment arrangements through G-Cash. Additionally, they requested our assistance in promoting the event on our Facebook page, providing what appeared to be a legitimate engagement letter.
Trusting in the authenticity of Mr. Rosario's request, we complied and shared the promotional materials provided by them. However, unbeknownst to us, these materials contained unauthorized links for ticket sales, which began collecting payments without our knowledge. Upon discovering this fraudulent activity, we immediately removed the links and QR codes associated with the unauthorized transactions.
Efforts to verify the legitimacy of the event through official channels, including communication with BINI_PH and relevant parties, initially yielded no response. It was not until April 1, 2024, that we received confirmation that the event was not sanctioned by BINI_PH or its management. Despite our attempts to reach Mr. Rosario, they remained unresponsive and unreachable.
In light of these deceptive actions, Iloilo Paraw Beach Resort, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, including cybercrime officers and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), is taking decisive action to ensure that justice is served and that our valued patrons receive the refunds they are rightfully owed. We are committed to filing charges against those responsible for perpetrating this scam and restoring the good name of our resort.
Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that in coordination with our counterparts in La Union, proactive measures have been taken to compensate the victims of this fraudulent scheme. Arrangements have been made to cover the talent fees for the proposed concert in La Union, and here at our resort, gift vouchers totaling six hundred thousand pesos will be issued to affected ticket holders as an interim measure.
We want to reassure all affected parties that while vouchers have been issued, we remain committed to exploring all avenues for cash refunds. The possibility of cash refunds will depend on the expediency with which the perpetrators are apprehended and justice is served.
In conclusion, we urge everyone present and those following this matter remotely to exercise restraint and refrain from making any malicious insinuations against Iloilo Paraw Beach Resort and its management. Any unwarranted attacks on our reputation will not be tolerated and will be met with appropriate legal action.
For those unable to attend this conference in person, rest assured that your vouchers will be promptly mailed to your nominated addresses.
